The combination of timber cladding and white render brings out the colour of the joinery and highlights the portal windows. Large glazing brings a light, spacious and modern feel to the living space, while the interior detailing and arched internal doorways are reminiscent of the local vernacular; Montpellier, Bristol.
Communal involvement and a sense of ownership was a key to the success of the project, and we employed a couple of the future residents, while offering a hands-on ‘apprenticeship’ style training. Some of these people are still working with us today, so you may meet one or two along the way.
