Space Framing

New Build. Montpelier, Bristol.
This terrace of 2 large townhouses and 4 apartments is at the cutting edge of modern sustainable communal living. The clients’ vision was to achieve the highest levels of sustainable features and technology without compromising on light or functionality, and we worked closely with them to achieve this within a practical budget.

Techniques used

The combination of timber cladding and white render brings out the colour of the joinery and highlights the portal windows. Large glazing brings a light, spacious and modern feel to the living space, while the interior detailing and arched internal doorways are reminiscent of the local vernacular; Montpellier, Bristol.

We’re proud of this because

Communal involvement and a sense of ownership was a key to the success of the project, and we employed a couple of the future residents, while offering a hands-on ‘apprenticeship’ style training. Some of these people are still working with us today, so you may meet one or two along the way.
