As you leave the hustle and bustle of Mina Road and enter the central brick courtyard you are instantly struck by the charm of the scheme which is otherwise obscured from the road. The reclaimed brick, matt black joinery and Cor-Ten steel work in perfect harmony, blending whilst simultaneously accentuating a stylish contrast.
From the courtyard the windows, sliding doors and several well positioned sky lights allow light to cascade into the living areas, bringing the outside in. The open plan design contributes to a feeling of space, encouraged by a linking colour scheme which introduces an effortless flow around the house.
Limited outside space was overcome by the design of a private veranda on top of the single story section of the house. Accessed from the first floor landing, you step out onto a larch decked area scattered with platers. At dusk low level lights set into the vertical cladding of the balustrade give the garden a warm, peaceful feel as you stand in the tree line of nearby Mina park.
